Kit and Bitty Baby joined us for a week on the southern coast of Ireland. We took Kit because she is about the same "age" as my Grandmother (who is almost 91 years young) who we were visiting. Grandma loved Kit and said she remembers dresses like Kit's birthday dress. She did say that Kit's hair did not look like something they would have had - but she grew up in England, not the US.
While we were there we helped my Grandparents celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. We had four generations of relatives present from 3 continents. My kids had to go around and find out where everyone was from and keep a list. They learned more this past week than they could ever learn in school!
Kit visited Cobh - the port where the first emmigrants to be processed at Ellis Island sailed from. It is also the last port the Titanic was in on that fateful day. She also saw castles, abbeys, drove on the wrong side of the road, saw the ocean, played with the cousins and had a great time.
Once I unpack, I will add some photos to my site.

I would love to see Ireland. Maybe when the kids are in college. My ancestors immigrated to America during the potato famine. I am glad you had a wonderful time!!!

Hi!
What a fun trip it sounds like you all had! My DH & I took a trip to Scotland and England about 8 years ago and we loved it! My parents were living in London at the time so it was just a terrific opportunity to travel and get to stay with them for free (always nice since we were grad students at the time). We did not make it to Ireland but hopefully we can go back at some point. I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures--I'm sure they are going to be beautiful!
